Overview

We’re looking for a Design Engineer to own how Granola shows up on the web and help people understand what it can do, what makes it special, and how to get started. You’ll combine strong design instincts with front-end engineering skills, taking ideas from early exploration through to a live website and shaping how people first encounter Granola.

Responsibilities

• Own the website’s development: set direction, identify opportunities, and take responsibility for quality. Continuously improve SEO, performance, and accessibility.
• Push what a website can be: set an ambitious creative and technical bar and make Granola’s website a best-in-class product marketing experience.
• Bring Granola’s story to life: work with marketing and design on the homepage, feature pages, enterprise pages, and other product experiences.
• Keep the everyday experience improving: iterate on navigation, pricing, CTAs and smaller updates with the same care as major launches.
• Build infrastructure to move faster: develop reusable components, page templates, and CMS workflows to simplify publishing.
• Support experimentation: build campaign landing pages and enable A/B testing to learn and improve the site.

Requirements

• Experience designing and building websites with a portfolio that demonstrates visual judgment and technical ability.
• Highly proficient with React, TypeScript, Tailwind and a solid grasp of modern frontend architecture.
• Confidence taking work from initial idea into production.
• Strong eye for typography, layout, hierarchy and interaction and an understanding of how these choices aid communication.
• Comfortable exploring ideas in both design tools and code.
• Experience with reusable components, content management, or publishing workflows.
• Interest in websites as a creative discipline: helping people understand a product and giving them a reason to try it.

Compensation

The company states a compensation philosophy of paying slightly above market on salary and above market on equity.

Location

Work is located in Granola’s Old Street office in London; the team works in person five days per week. Relocation assistance is available for candidates moving to London.
