Geordie

Product Designer

United Kingdom (Remote)

Apply for this position

Overview

Geordie is building category-defining tooling for AI agent visibility, governance, and risk, helping enterprises understand, govern, and trust their AI agents. The company is Series A, the product is evolving fast, and the domain is genuinely new.

You'll report to the Head of Product Design and join two Product Designers. Design is embedded: you'll join one of Geordie's development teams (three today, growing to five) as its designer, working alongside its engineers and customers every day. There are no Product Managers; design and engineering partner directly to decide what to build. The team ships multiple times a day and actively encourages designers to use AI agents to write code and get closer to the product. Because it's early, you'll also help set the foundations: the design language, the component library, the patterns used across the product, and Geordie's brand.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end design of core product experiences, from early concept through to shipped and iterated.
  • Help build Geordie's design system with the rest of the design team: tokens, components, patterns, and documentation, shaped by what your team needs.
  • Contribute to Geordie's brand, evolving the visual language, illustration, and assets so product and brand tell one story.
  • Lead customer discovery and research: run interviews, identify patterns, and bring customer insight into every design decision.
  • Work directly with customers to test your thinking early and close the loop between insight and shipped product.
  • Collaborate daily with engineers: pairing, reviewing, and increasingly using AI tools to prototype and contribute to the codebase yourself.
  • Contribute to product direction; you'll be in the room where decisions are made, not handed a spec.
  • Keep a strong point of view on what good design looks like in a security and governance product: clear, trustworthy, and built for expert users.

What they're looking for

  • You care deeply about customers and can move fast without losing quality, going from whiteboard to high fidelity quickly and knowing when each is appropriate.
  • You're comfortable with ambiguity and find a new, evolving domain energising.
  • You have strong opinions about design systems and component architecture, with experience building or significantly contributing to one.
  • You work well in a collaborative engineering culture: pair-designing with engineers, reviewing pull requests for design quality, and using AI tools to accelerate your work.

Requirements

  • Significant experience as a product designer, with a portfolio that shows complex UX problem-solving, not just polished visuals.
  • Experience designing highly complex B2B SaaS products, including data visualisation and data-dense interfaces.
  • Proven ability across the full design process: research, concept, detailed design, and handoff.
  • Strong product thinking: you can define the problem, question the brief, and help decide what to build.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving, iterative environment where requirements evolve quickly.

Nice to have

  • Experience designing for security, developer, or enterprise SaaS products.
  • Familiarity with AI agent tooling, observability platforms, or data-dense interfaces.
  • Experience contributing to a design system, including tokens, components, and documentation.
  • Brand or visual identity experience, such as illustration, iconography, or marketing design.
  • Experience writing code, even basic frontend, or using AI tools to prototype in the browser.
  • A background at an early-stage startup where you built things from scratch.

Why this role

AI agents are changing how companies operate, and governing them safely is a growing question. You'll join while design is still being defined: no legacy system, no established playbook, real customers, and fast feedback on your work.
